Pictures to Share

In 2005, with help from a number of charitable funding organisations, I set up a social enterprise to develop and publish a series of beautiful books for people in the mid to late stages of dementia. This was prompted by my experiences with my mother who lived and died with dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.

The ability of people with dementia to understand and enjoy books gradually reduces until they have lost the ability to enjoy traditional books altogether.  The Pictures to Share books provide beautiful high quality imagery combined with short large print texts. These provide people who have the cognitive limitations of dementia, with an accessible way to enjoy art and literature once again.

I retired from Pictures to Share in 2017 and the organisation ceased operating in 2023.

The books can still be borrowed from public libraries in the UK and are available secondhand.
